Trentinos developed this appellation, the second in the world after Méthode Champenoise for Champagne, to ensure the highest quality and distinction. The region’s pristine alpine setting ensures pure, clean air and water, excellent soil, and a wide temperature variation between day and night, which aids flavor development. Grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot noir, and Pinot Meunier with Pinot blanc are permitted, and they must be grown in a well-defined area within the Province of Trento〔P. After graduating from the Forschungsanstalt für Garten- und Weinbau in Geisenheim/Rheingau, Germany, Ferrari gained winemaking experience in the French Champagne producing town of Épernay.
